Whether you’ve been out of work for a while, recently lost your job, are new to the Ottawa region, are wanting to get a better job, or are trying to navigate working with a disability, we can help. Our Employment Ontario Ottawa team will listen to you, learn about your previous work experience (if any), your interests, your unique skill set, and collaborate with you to develop an Employment Action Plan that works for you.

Employment Ontario Program Information

We are funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) to facilitate several Employment Ontario programs. Whether you are looking for a job or want to expand your skills, we can help. 

We offer several employment programs across Ontario that will suit any need! 

Employment services

  • By providing job seekers with access to job search resources, the latest labour market information, personalized career advice and training needs assessment; we help them find meaningful long-term employment.
  • This program is funded by the Government of Ontario and is completely free for job seekers so that they are supported with various pathways to employment.
  • Job seekers are provided with the following employment services:
    • Job Search Supports (Resume building, Interview Preparation, and additional supports with reference completion, effective social media, and networking)
    • Career Planning and Exploration (Labour Market information, Job referrals, career counselling and Job retention services)
    • Literacy and Education (Upskilling, Workshops, Trainings and Certifications)
    • Employment Related Funding Supports (Financial supports for Job seekers)

Apprenticeship

  • Apprenticeships are a great way to get paid while you learn valuable skills from experienced tradespeople. You can take classes and work under the direction of these professionals, all at no cost!

  • We support our clients with the apprenticeship process, which includes providing access to resources and information, matching clients with sponsor employers, and supporting clients with eligibility requirements, including linking them to free pre-apprenticeship training as needed.
 

Better jobs Ontario

  • The Better Jobs Ontario program is to support unemployed individuals in need of skills training to help find employment in in-demand occupations with demonstrated labour market prospects in Ontario. Applicants may be eligible for financial supports for tuitions, books, transportation, and personal allowances of up to $28,000! Additional funding may be provided for non-residence living expenses, childcare, disability supports and even basic literacy trainings. The intention of the BJO program is to help individuals rapidly attach to employment by the most cost-effective path.

  • Our role is to help job seekers understand and navigate the application process, including, evaluating the client’s eligibility and suitability, supporting the client with the BJO application package and the submission of the completed application.
